Tend · Pre-release information
Privacy policy
Last updated September 27, 2026
Tend is developed by Daily App Studio, operated by Hamza Boudouar. Tend is still in development and has not been publicly released on the App Store. This notice explains its existing local features and identifies planned online processing. We will update this page to reflect the final service before public release.
Local use
Manual rooms, chores, schedules, notes, completion history, preferences, and saved sessions are stored on your iPhone. Local use does not create a cloud account automatically. Exported files are saved or shared only to the destination you choose. Device backups may include app data according to your Apple and device settings. Removing the app can remove its local data, so keep an export if you need a separate copy.
Optional accounts and cloud sync
When enabled, Sign in with Apple and cloud sync will process the identifier and email Apple provides (including a private relay address if chosen), your chosen profile name and timezone, and the household information you explicitly connect. Synced information includes rooms, chores, schedules, completion records, membership, and changes needed to keep devices consistent. We do not receive your Apple password.
Cloud accounts and data will be hosted with Supabase, with the app’s server hosted on Railway. The initial database region is the United States. Providers may also process operational data in other countries.
Shared households
Sharing is a planned optional feature. Joining a household will make shared chore information, your household display name, and relevant completion activity visible to its members. Household owners will manage invitations and membership. Shared effort summaries will require your consent. Information that another member has exported cannot be removed from that person’s copy by deleting your account.
Optional AI planning
AI features are being developed and are not required for manual chores. Before they send information, Tend will explain the use of OpenAI and ask for your consent. A request may include the description you write, relevant chore or room details, and a photo only if you select one for that request. Review images before sending them and avoid private documents, people, or other information you do not want processed.
The planned AI provider is OpenAI, using GPT-4.1 mini through our server. Our service is designed to process selected photos temporarily rather than maintain a permanent photo library. Accepted plans become ordinary chore data. Usage counts and consent records will be kept to enforce limits and your choices. Disabling AI consent will stop future AI requests; it will not retract a request already processed.
OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the API customer opts in. Its standard abuse-monitoring retention can include request content for up to 30 days, with exceptions for legal or safety reasons. We do not promise zero provider retention. See OpenAI’s data controls documentation.
Subscriptions
Apple processes purchases and payment details. When subscriptions become available, Tend will store purchase identifiers, the link to your Tend account and household, and subscription status to verify access, restore purchases, and prevent misuse. We do not receive your payment card details. Cancelling renewal or letting Plus expire will not automatically delete your household data.
Permissions, diagnostics, and this website
Notifications are optional and controlled in iPhone settings. Photo and camera access will be requested only for the corresponding optional feature. Tend does not need contacts or precise location for household chores. Hosting providers may process connection information such as IP addresses and security logs. This website uses Vercel hosting and web analytics; website visits are separate from your private chore content.
We do not sell household data or use chore content for advertising. Support messages, including the email address you use to contact us, are processed to answer your request. Do not send passwords, payment details, or unnecessary household photos to support.
Retention and your choices
Local records remain until you remove them or the app’s data. Connected household records will be retained to provide sync and history while the account is active. Some operation and transaction records are needed for reliable retries, security, and billing. Deletion from live systems may not immediately remove backup copies or records that must be kept for legal or security reasons.
You can export local data from the app. In-app account deletion is a requirement for the planned account service before public release. During development, contact us to request access, correction, export, or deletion of any account or support data. We may need to verify that the request concerns your account. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, withdraw consent, or complain to your local data-protection authority.
Adults and policy updates
Tend’s shared accounts are intended for adults, not child accounts. Please contact us if a child has supplied personal information. Changes to the service or this notice will be reflected here with an updated date; new optional processing will be explained before it is enabled.
